This site is a tribute to Del, who was born in South London on January 01-01-1959. He is much loved and will always be remembered. He was an incredible father, amazing husband, doting grandad, brother, son and a dear friend who will be missed by all.
All donations made will be donated to the HedleyAtkins Ward at Guys Hospital, for the exceptionalround the clock care he recieved by the nurses on the ward. We truly appreciate any donations we receive and they will make a big difference to the staff and future patients and families.
As his daughter, having slept on a waiting room sofa for a week I would like to raise money to buy foldaway beds for relatives and decorate the relatives room for those who dont want to leave their loved ones side, so they can escape the sadness when needed and get the rest they need to build their stength up to be there for their loved ones.
My dad in his last days always spoke of how hard the nurses worked and how it was relentless and he would like to see them have a well deserved a break, I would like them to have the Christmas party of all Christmas parties in my fathers honour.
So many charities raise money for cancer research, but I would like to raise money for those caring for the suffers day after day, with an overwhelming kindness, empathy and support, in memory of my dad.
Kimberly this is such a lovely and thoughtful idea, thinking of you and your family - RIP Derek xxx from Rosie, Michael and Zachary
Love you so much honey. This is such a beautiful thing you're doing - providing a space for families who are visiting their loved ones in the hospital. The nurses will love the Christmas party, too. The whole thing is very sweet. Please send along my love to your family. xoxo
Such a lovely idea Kim, thinking of you all xxx
